From the Richmond Times Dispatch:
Former Fla. Gov. Jeb Bush, a leading GOP presidential hopeful, has contributed $10,000 to the financially troubled Republican Party of Virginia.
Pete Snyder, finance chairman of the state GOP, announced the contribution in a release Tuesday afternoon.
“The (former) governor knows that all paths to the White House run through Virginia and he believes that we need a strong and united RPV to get the job done,” Snyder said. “We do too, and we are incredibly grateful for his support.”
Snyder, founder of Disruptor Capital, an angel investment company, last week issued a “grassroots challenge” to help rebuild the party’s coffers. If the party can raise $50,000 in small contributions by June 1, Snyder will match them dollar for dollar.
